How to Download it?

To download macOS Monterey, follow these simple steps;

  • In the left-hand corner of the screen, select the Apple menu.
  • Then select System Preferences > Software Update > Update or Upgrade Now.
  • As the download and installation processes will take some time, you can sit back and rest for a while.

Note: Before you install the OS, there's one more thing you need to do: back up your Mac. You can do this by using Time Machine to back up your files or by keeping them in iCloud.

Features of macOS Monterey That You Cannot Wait to Have in Your Apple Device

Here are the features of the new OS upgrade;

  • FaceTime Upgrade

    • FaceTime in MacOS Monterey gets a makeover with new visual and audio features (most of which can be accessed through the Control Center in the upper right-hand corner of the menu bar). On calls, for example, you can utilize Portrait mode to blur the background and hide messy interiors. Thanks to a new grid arrangement, it's now simpler to see everyone on the call at once.
    • More crucially, you may send a link to friends who use Android or Windows smartphones to invite them to join a call. They'll have to use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge to do so.
    • FaceTime features spatial audio, which makes individual voices sound like they're coming from the direction where each person is positioned on your Mac's screen, making all of the SharePlay experiences even better.

        • Shortcuts are extensively interwoven into macOS Monterey and can be launched from the Dock, Finder, Spotlight, or Siri. They're also universal, so you can utilize shortcuts created on your iPhone on your Mac and vice versa.

      • Notes - Quick Note

        • In macOS Monterey, the Notes app has been updated with a new Quick Note feature that allows you to scribble down notes no matter where you are. A small note icon will appear if you move your cursor to the very bottom right corner of the screen.
        • With the ability to add Mentions and observe what's happened through the Activity View, Apple is also strengthening collaborative features in Notes. There are also additional choices for organizing and searching for notes with tags and the new Tag Browser.
