At WWDC 2022, Apple announced iOS 16, which includes updates to alerts, lock screens, Messages, and Health apps.

- Live Text

- Using the camera on your iPhone, add drugs: Using the camera on your iPhone, you can rapidly add your prescriptions. Simply place the pharmaceutical label in the frame to see the name, strength, and form of the drug.
- Reminders about taking drugs: Whether you take prescriptions numerous times a day, once a week, or as required, create individual schedules and reminders for each drug.

- Privacy
- Check for Safety: This new feature in Settings allows those who have been victims of domestic or intimate partner abuse to easily reset the access they've given to others. It also allows you to keep track of who you've given access to and which applications they have.
- Pasteboard permission : Before an app may use the pasteboard to paste material from another app, it needs your permission.
- Enhancements to media streaming: Stream video from devices that don't support AirPlay streaming protocols without granting Bluetooth or local network access authorization.
- In Photos, lock hidden and recently deleted albums: Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode may be used to open the Hidden and Recently Deleted albums, which are protected by default.
