Apple Music
With the new Apple Music app for Mac, you can stream and download over 50 million songs from Apple Music, and easily access the iTunes Music Store. You’ll find all the music you’ve purchased or downloaded organized in the improved Library. And you can follow along to the lyrics of your favorite songs.
Apple TV
With the new Apple TV app for Mac, you can buy or rent new movies, or watch popular TV shows from channels like Amazon Prime Video or Netflix on demand and ad-free, online or off. And you can pick up where you left off across any of your devices, including Apple TV, iPhone, iPad, and compatible smart TVs.
Syncing and backups
Instead of using iTunes to back up and sync your iOS device to your Mac, you’ll find the same functionality right in Finder. Just connect your device to your Mac and look for it under Devices in the sidebar.
Apple Podcasts
With the new Apple Podcasts app for Mac, you can find great new podcasts by title, topic, guest, host, and more. Subscribe and be notified when new episodes are available. You can also start listening to an episode on your Mac, then seamlessly resume on your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch when you’re on the go.
Mac Catalyst
Enjoy a new class of Mac apps built from your favorite iPad titles. Not only do they run natively alongside your Mac apps, they can also sync information with their iOS counterparts so you can have a consistent, personalized experience across your Mac and iPad.
Sidecar
Extend your workspace by using your iPad as a second Mac display. Work in one app while you reference another, or view your artwork on your Mac while you use tools and palettes on your iPad. And use Apple Pencil for drawing or marking up when using your favorite creative Mac apps.
Continuity Sketch and Markup
Create a sketch on your iPad or iPhone and insert it into any document on your Mac. You can also use your iPad or iPhone to sign a PDF or mark up a screenshot on your Mac.
Accessibility
Hover Text displays large, high-resolution text in a dedicated window. And Zoom Display keeps one display tightly zoomed in while a second remains at the standard resolution.
Security
Gatekeeper ensures that you only run apps that are already considered safe. And with new data protections, you control whether apps can access your data.
Find My
The new Find My app combines Find My iPhone and Find My Friends into a single, easy-to-use app for Mac and iOS devices. You can locate devices even if they can’t connect to Wi-Fi or cellular. And if you have a Mac with the Apple T2 Security Chip, you can help keep it secure with Activation Lock.
Photos
An all-new Photos tab showcases your best photos and memories in a beautiful new browsing experience that organizes your photos by days, months, and years. And you can now view and edit Memory Movies on your Mac.
Safari
An updated start page uses Siri intelligence so you can quickly get to the sites you want. And smart refinements help you use stronger passwords and browse the web more efficiently.
Notes
Quickly find a note you’re looking for in gallery view, or with a more powerful search that recognizes images. You can also share notes with others in shared folders, and manage lists more efficiently with new checklist options.
Reminders
With the completely rebuilt Reminders app, you can use new edit buttons, add attachments, and create subtasks for all your reminders. And enhanced Siri intelligence, smart lists, and integration with Messages means you’ll never miss another reminder.
Take control of your inbox by muting a thread, blocking a sender, or unsubscribing.
Screen Time
Get insight into how you spend time in apps and on websites, and set controls for managing your time. With Family Sharing, Screen Time gives parents the same visibility and controls for their kids on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac.
